I didn't know Del closely, but I wanted to share what a wonderful teacher he was to my son at High Down School, after he started in 4S having moved from Bristol, not knowing anyone at the school last year. Del made his transition incredibly smooth sailing, and my son finished the year thinking he was the best teacher he’d ever had. Del encouraged his work within the classroom, helped him with his confidence and encouraged and supported his passion for sport in and out of school. Whenever I saw Del, he was always incredibly approachable, funny and friendly and a great ambassador to High Down. Del was also a neighbour of ours and so we will feel the loss of him in our local community too, often seeing him out and about on his bike yelling "Hello!", or simply having a morning coffee on his balcony, watching the world go by. My thoughts are with all those close to him, he really was a remarkable man who was taken from this world far too soon. RIP.
